BRISBANE, Jan 15 AAP - A scriptwriter could not have come up with a better scene.

Halfway through a media conference in the middle of an inner-city Brisbane mall, embattled
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie is interrupted by a middle-aged woman who had been waiting
20 minutes to meet the Labor leader.

"My husband and I have always been Liberal voters but we totally support you and we
